Saga has been coming to China for 4+ years now and it is no secret that we do our full outerwear production here. In fact, we are very proud of this but it gets a strange reaction from those not completely aware of a world class outerwear production. China has been and still is the forefront of technical outerwear. It has taken Saga years of building our network in Asia to become the brand we are today, it is by no means easy and it does have it draw backs, language, customs and business is all different over here (do I sound like your parents yet?). But the truth is we are proud of our products and the people/places that make them. We have become very familiar with the many faces and locations we continually visit on our travels in Asia, they get excited to see us and the feeling is mutual. People are people, just because we can’t communicate the language fluently doesn’t mean we don’t all laugh the same and enjoy the company of familiar faces, this is universal. The pictures we show here on the blog, can be easily misunderstood because garment production probably isn’t a part of your normal life, but this is life for so many people and a prosperous one at that. Don’t let a busy factory floor make you think sweatshop for in fact it is the exact opposite, these are real jobs for people supporting them selves just like you and I. The purpose of these posts and showing you behind the curtain of our production, is to educate the readers of this blog about something that may not be familiar in your everyday lives. Regardless of your interpretation, this is an industry and process we take great pride in being apart of.
