Une Nuit Sans Opera is founded upon a desire to reinterpret the pleasure garden in the 21st century. Established as a counterpoint to the Aix en Provence Opera Festival in 2009 by Sohba Productions the aim of Une Nuit San Opera (A Night of No Opera) is to reveal the spatial extents of the many hidden typological garden conditions found in Cezanne’s scenic landscape with forms of stimulating poetic activity. Through an annual series of crafted inter-disciplinary collaborations, a variety of international artists, architects, performers, speakers and thinkers have constructed an exciting portfolio of uniquely organic and contemporary operatic narratives for the general public to take pleasure in.
