This segment of the movie "La Epoca - The Palladium Era" is just a snapshot of the groundwork layed down for "part II." Can you recognize each rhythm in Latin music? Do you know what the Mambo rhythm sounds like, or the Guaguanco rhythm or the Son-Montuno? Do you know to which rhythms one dances the Cha-Cha-Cha?
"La Epoca - The Lost Rhythms in Salsa" is going to be filmed this year. We're very excited. Some of the people who saw "part I" said they'd like to actually know what the rhythms are now that they know that "salsa" is just a word to represent all these other rhythms.
The few people today who can actually recognize the rhythms are very fortunate because we can write the music the majority can't and we can dance like the majority can't because we know the rhythms. While other dancers get off the dance floor because they're intimidated by a rhythm that sounds strange or old-school for them, those of us who actually know how to interpret the music are having a great time dancing.
To those who actually have an appreciation for tradition, instead of living in the cycle of trying to keep up with commercial brainwashing ... I appreciate your support, as always.
