Pokot Outreach Ministry, Kenya
Located in northwestern Kenya, Pokot Outreach Ministry seeks to address the spiritual and physical needs of the Pokot people.
'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Matthew 25:40
Julius and Rachel Murgor work with the Pokot people of northwest Kenya. This ministry has been reaching more and more of this people group each year for many years. The primary emphasis is to bring the Gospel to each Pokot, through evangelistic services under trees in the bush, establishing churches and training indigenous leaders and pastors.
We cannot forget their physical need such as clean water, food, medicine and clinics. Harvesters International Missions has supplied Pokot Outreach Ministries with water well drilling equipment. Together we are drilling water wells and building mission stations where the people can establish a community centered around clean water for themselves and their animals. These mission stations also house a local church and a medical clinic. The church building is often used as a pre-school during the week.
Julius and Rachel have been very successful in their discipleship of the Pokot tribe (click here for recent statistics). The Pokot leaders continue to not only reach their own people but they are also reaching out to other tribes in the neighboring countries of Uganda and Southern Sudan.
