In 2009 craft education charity The Making launched a new educational programme to bring craft and design directly into British schools.
Skills in the Making is supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and is designed to improve the level of craft and design knowledge amongst school teachers. It is a three-year professional development programme which enables art, design and craft teachers and trainees to meet some of the UK’s leading makers, find out about their work and explore the value of learning through making.
