The waving shimmer of light on water made by sun and wind. One moment, nothing. Another, floating. It is like a zebra stripe. Shima is a dance/sound/projection-mapping work exploring 島 (shima - island), shimmer & feelings of home.
The work was created by Murasaki Penguin (Anna Kuroda and David Kirkpatrick) over Underbelly Arts' two week Lab on Cockatoo Island, Sydney, Australia in July 2011.
Shima was first performed in an abandoned heavy machine shop on the 16th July at the Underbelly Arts Festival.
