Bittersweet in that it was the final shuttle mission and in that I missed half the tweetup due to airline issues. As such, I had limited footage to work with. However, Joe Lucas (@JoeCLucas on Twitter) was gracious enough to provide me with additional footage and @jetforme on Twitter allowed me to use some of his shuttle simulator. The shuttle footage of Atlantis is from NASA.
The JSC135 NASA Tweetup consisted of the following:
- Tour of the Johnson Space Center facilities in Houstan, TX
- Hands on flight time with the actual shuttle simulators used by astronauts during mission training
- Visit to the Neutral Buoyancy Lab where astronauts train for EVA's
- Visit to Mission Control to monitor mission activities
- Phone call from the International Space Center
- Visit to the historic Apollo Mission Control Center
- Tour of the astronaut training facility by astronaut Scott Kelly
- Access to NASA engineers and employees
- Tour of new Orion/MPCV capsule under development
- Hang out great #spacetweeps
I would like to do a second version of this video if I can get more footage from others.
