My profile picture for Facebook is the flag of Israel. Underneath the flag are these words, “I stand with Israel”. Some may think this to be a political stance, but for me, my stance is grounded in the Bible. As a Christian, I believe it is where I am called to stand. I know that this is a controversial topic, but please hear me out........
It is not that God’s promise to the Jews has changed, but only expanded to include those of us who are most unworthy. We who were but dogs at the master’s table have been included in the gift of salvation, not through any works of our own, but through faith in Christ alone.......
Because of the mercy of God, I stand with Israel. As a Gentile, for me, there is no other choice, lest I neglect God’s great gift of salvation. For without God’s mercy, I would remain a mere dog at the master’s table, eating whatever crumbs would come my way. Instead, God has seen fit to accept this mere dog as one of His children and to sit with my Jewish brothers and sisters in Christ at His table. For this, I am eternally grateful.
