(Snohomish) Like so many rivers in Washington State today, the Snohomish is very much on the rise.

When I set-out with my video camera on Thursday morning (January 8, 2009), I thought I’d head for Arlington and the flooded Stillaguamish river. However, as I first approached the Snohomish exit on Highway 9, I felt compelled to take a quick look in that town.

It wasn’t a quick visit.

What I saw was enough to keep me busy for a couple of hours, while conveniently removing the threat of encountering even higher water further north in Arlington.

Thanks for the video. I got there that evening, after dark. I couldn't really capture much with the HV30 - Low light and HDV is a hard mix to handle. The level came up higher than what you have here.

When the little rivers like the Pilchuck turn into big rivers, (vimeo.com/2757479) you know the Snohomish river will be crazy!

Thank YOU, Jeff. I had fun checking-out several of your videos tonight. Nice, crisp images.
