Scuderia Ficara.. Domenico Spadaro Memorial Drive.

Imagine yourself flying along, that's what it felt like, only this time I was inches from the ground, in a Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce, superbly driven by Santo Spadaro.

The event, the second annual rally drive and vintage automobile gathering to commemorate the life of his dad, Domenico.

Actually it was a weekend of cars, cars and more cars but ones that were built in the late 50's to early 70's , there was even one that had been driven in 1948 Mille Miglia!!

Friday evening we had driven to NYC to watch "Senna" a biography documentary on the brilliant yet controversial formula 1 driver. Lots of old clips during his early years.

Saturday, we were up early and witnessed the gathering of about 100 cars of vintage era.
Also, of note, a Jaguar Xk120, Ferraris, Porsches, Lancias, Lotus, even an 1960's MIni rolled in!!

The 100hp ,1300cc Spider Veloce that I was in had been carefully restored to excellent condition. In a car which loves to be revved, the tach starts at 2000.
