LP and Rocky took a day trip to Cumbres Pass, north of Chama, NM. The winds were light and probably never topped 12 mph. We nonetheless had a blast in the passing thermals and chasing the swifts as they chased bugs in the rising columns of air. The train track for the narrow-gauge Cumbres/Toltec railway passes directly beneath this slope. The scenery from where we flew at 10,120 feet is simply magnificent!
Just after we'd started flying, a pair of military, Osprey, V-22 aircraft made a very low pass down the valley from north to south. They weren't far from us, below the horizon, and the sound was phenomenal.
I have no idea who's performing the music, it was recorded from an old "Hearts of Space" radio show.
