This is a originaly Full HD Video footage shot December 21, 2008, Hjellestad, Bergen, Norway. The Norwegian Sea Rescuers are just back from a training session in rough weather. There is not much daylight here at 60 degrees North. The weather is rough. I would not take a plunge in this cold North Sea water. No, its not a remake of "Nanook of the North"....

Technical details:
Shot with Canon EOS 5D MarkII. Opening scene (depicting the sun at its highest round noon) was taken with a Nikon Nikkor AF 70-210mm f1:4-5.6.. The rest of the footage with a Canon EF 24mm-105mm 1:4 L IS USM with excellent stabilizing effect during the worst windgusts. My beloved Nikon primes were not used for this shot.
As usual the Vimeo processing of my footage makes its somewhat flatter and less punchy compared with the original. Feel free to download a better quality version on this page. The Full HD original viewed on a calibrated monitor, though is way better.
