Filmed through a window screen out my back window (windows). I heard an unfamiliar sound, then a sudden rustling in the plants outside my window. I went to the window and had to look for several seconds before I could make out the form of a hawk, the Hawaiian hawk, Io hawk, Buteo solitarious. It is an endangered species. The hawk was in the shade, on the ground with one wing stretched out in an unusual position. I quickly got my video camera but had no time to get my tripod which was in my car. When the hawk moved its wing I saw it was covering a rodent in its claw. I continued filming as it moved from one area to another a couple of times. I moved from one window to another window following the hawks moves. The camera was on autofocus and at times it struggled to keep focus on the hawk. Filming through the screen could have also had something to do with the focus problems. Visit my website/blog at beinginnature.wordpress.com
