Here's a silly 30-second spot I did for a recent Doritos competition. I didn't make it to the finals but it was fun to do.

It's based on one of those key locator beeper things.

Used fluorescent lighting for the shoot. I think it was the tungsten equivalent of about 1800w

yea funny. how many watts were the fluorescenst?
  • Steven Dempsey 11 months ago
5 banks of 2x40w flo tubes and two 26w compact flos for back lighting. So I guess that's a total of 452w which is about 1800w tungsten equiv.

hahaha. That facial expression may have killed your chances.

Steven, you don't mention color temperature with the flo tubes. I'm using CFLs with 5500K and tubes in the same range, hoping to match window-supplied daylight when it's available. White-balancing, of course, sometimes with a warm card. You?
  • Steven Dempsey 11 months ago
I'm not sure what the temp is on the flos, I think it's around 55k. Just make sure you white balance to the flos and not the background daylight.

I would love to achieve that look with my Sony Z1U.
Is the Letus Ultimate an all-in-one kit?
