This was shot around early March with my Canon 7D camera.
The visual that I was going for in this video is to show beauty between lights in the carnival in the dangerous streets of L.A. To show beauty between streets where criminals, thieves, drug dealers, prostitution and many other crimes have been committed; and twice a year, in between the streets of La Brea and Venice to La Brea and Rimpau, they would close down the streets to put up a carnival. With showing lights and everyone gathering around, people seem to forget that the streets are dangerous and instead they get a sense of safety and almost 'dreamy' sequences when seeing everything up close. It almost makes you forget about the dangers of the streets and focuses on the beauty of the lights.
This video is dedicated to the memory of my friend Jose Antonio Valero, who passed away days after I shot this. This was the last time I've spent with him and encouraged me to shoot while we were at the carnival. He was the kindest person I've ever known I'll always treasure the moments I've had with him.
