Amazing videos, really well done!!! Is there any chance you could throw together a tutorial on converting 5d Mark II footage from 30p to 25p and syncing it up with separately recorded sound - basically keeping the dialogue in sync. By either slowing 30p down to 24p or by time remapping in AE or Shake, Motion.....

I've been using final cut pro for years and have never touched the media manager. By far, the most valuable knowledge I've retained this year. Thank you Peter. That was a funny tutorial as well. Although you should have a Stella in your hand.

It's been awhile since I've used Media Manager. Ever since I started editing ProRes instead of native HDV (on a HV20 as well!) I was at odds with what I should keep, the original HDV or the huge ProRes files. Since the final sequence will reference the ProRes files I avoided using media manager.

I now have the 5Dmarkii and have the similar question. If I *really* wanted to save disk space but keep my project could I take my converted ProRes files offline and reconnect to the native original footage? Handles should take care of GOP issues.

Of course you would have to rerender and change sequence settings if you wanted to do anything but as a way to archive wouldn't it be more economical to toss the huge ProRes files?
