In Nick Caizzaza’s reinterpretation of the film Soy Cuba he abstracts the very fibers of what symbolizes the working class of Cuban oppression. The golden tone of the film overcasts the fields of sugar cane as the machete sounds and the farmer morphs into the darkness of flowing molasses.
