CSU Maritime Academy student Brandon Teepen talks about how losing faculty who used to teach at his campus is affecting students.
"My name is Brandon Teepen. I go to the California Maritime Academy in Vallejo and my major is international business and logistics. The loss of teachers in my school has affected us pretty hugely. Recently I lost a professor whom many of us liked, who moved back to Chicago to work because he wasn’t getting paid enough. I’m very concerned about the executives getting more pay because it affects the faculty more than anything. When it affects the faculty it affects the students ;and when the faculty aren’t getting paid enough and their working conditions aren’t great, our working conditions aren’t great; so then we lose faculty and that impacts us a lot.
