A savage night at the opera.
Another savage night at the club.
Let's face it, old souls like us are being born to die!
It's not a war till someone loses an eye!

True, this video is an homage to the Claude Lelouch short: youtube.com/watch?v=gWVde1pWl24

I'm English but live in Ottawa. I went to Vancouver for a week and managed to fly in just in time to hit up a youth hostel and run to the Destroyer gig. Was great! and spent a week walking these streets. Love Vancouver!

The original: a gripping, exciting ride through a beautiful historical city, weaving through tight streets, arches, past trucks, onto sidewalks and between fluttering pigeons. With nothing but the sound of screeching tires and a roaring engine, suspense builds up as to where the driver is going. In the end, the girl he's meeting walks up to the car, excitement on her face, as she embraces her dare-devil.

This: a drive through boring wide city blocks, set to a dumb ass 80s sound-alike track, shot on the most inappropriate camera imaginable (a rolling shutter for a banking motorcycle ride, really?). Concluded with one of the most fake, staged embraces imaginable.

Vancouver is not a beautiful city. Vancouver is an ugly ass city set against a beautiful backdrop. And it's got too many damn hipsters who can't come up with anything original.

Steven, you got dumped in Vancouver, didn't you...
Go play with your awesome Linux systems and trace some more of other people's art on your chalkboard.

    Love it. C’était un Rendezvous.

Would have been great if it was on a gyro - youtube.com/watch?v=rCOt78MB5vM&feature=share

Great video, it was shot at the prettiest time of day. Plus this video takes me back to Vancouver where I took my honeymoon. =)
