"On June 21st 2011, Nick Franglen played the theremin under the Manhattan Bridge for 24 hours, starting and ending at midnight. Soundbeam sensors on the bridge above him registered the passing of each cyclist, creating a moment of silence for everyone who crossed the bridge throughout the day.

This film is a record of the day."

This performance was made with the kind assistance of Make Music New York, the NYC Department of Transportation and the Dumbo BID.

This is the second of my Bridge installations. See the film of Hymn To London Bridge here: vimeo.com/20627570

Beautiful! The music soundtracks the pulse of New York and Manhattan Bridge nicely. What camera was this shot on?
