Andrea+Derek Wedding Highlights
This highlights illustrates imperative film making, and character driven story telling concepts that heavily influence the direction and approach of our work.
These concepts include (but not limited to), effective use of narration, symmetry, minimal shot repetition, information layering, information diversity, time-shifting, shot & sequence lifespan, sequence building, and cresendo based storytelling.
We will be discussing and deconstructing these concepts heavily next week at our first-ever international instructional workshops.
Production Tidbits:
- All our standard tools were used for this piece (Steadicam Flyer, Canon A1s, Brevis35 + EOS lenses, Glidetrack, Arri 650 for the reception hall etc.)
- I would like to point out that for the processional sequence, to not underestimate the importance of executing solid, well-motivated and steady tripod shots.
Solid tripod work can yield incredible value when the objective is to piece together a full, very well rounded story.
Looking forward to seeing many of you next week.

We have been noticing interest from some of you with regards to holding workshops to help with corporate video production; as we have ported the concepts of our wedding work to the world of corporate video.
If you feel that you may be interested in a workshop dedicated to better understanding the language of film, tailored to commercial video, kindly let us know.
For those very serious about education + training re video-production; please check out stillmotionexperience.com

very very nice work
Joseph - I'm very happy to read your comment, as you noticed the depth of storytelling before I had a chance to do the writeup.
Troy - Scrutinizing shot lifespan mainly contributed to the smooth editing flow for the first dance, which you'll learn more of next week.
JDK Studio - Merci beaucoup!

You a great job for shooting on the fly at a wedding.
Do you scout location before an event?
How many shooters and cameras are working the event?
I bet you don't advertise on Craigslist! HAHA
DH - we spend about 5 minutes while setting up for the ceremony to synchronize a strategy in order to produce the best work that we can.
For this wedding there was a maximum of 4 cameras at the cermony. Like 90% of all of our weddings, there were 2 shooters for this one. Patrick & Myself. We are excited for the 31st though as Konrad, Patrick & myself will have a rare oppurtunity to shoot together at a wedding. In this case having the 3 of us we are able to push the limits to make the product better.
