    water is animated???
  • Simon Vetter 4 months ago
Been asking myself the same question...
    and I hope so ;D
  • unless the Louvre was flooded and no one read about it in the papers, I'd say animated.

Fantastic work, left guessing until the end...
  • Paolo 4 months ago
well, i was pretty sure that it was all animated because i've been to paris few months ago and i recognized many of these spots and it's obvious that something like this is impossible, but you know, i just had to ask ;)

also, i wonder how was all this made, i tried something like this in AE using displacement map and some tips from this tutorial (videocopilot.net/tutorial/3d_ocean/) but i could not achieve a look as realistic as the one from this video and i would very much appreciate if someone could just give me a hint about the software used for this.. cheers y'all

How did you even do this? This isn't "Hollywood blockbuster suspension of disbelief makes it decent"-type effects - this is perfection and indiscernable from reality. I'm blown away. Soundtrack to match, as well.

Not a single clue. The effect was overused and this broke the suspense.Perhaps more variation of the water's texture. Not being a visual artist I don't know how difficult this is.Although by the fact they haven't replied to any request for details, this alone say's something. We just got through flood season and I could believe floods like that anywhere.Nice work in the long run.

Perhaps you should take note from all the VFX artists who are replying to this video who's expert opinion is that it is excellent work and keep your disparaging remarks to yourself!
