During the winter of 2009, I really got into the BBC's Planet Earth. It really inspired me to just take a camera, go out into the world, and film life. At the time, I was living in Berkeley and so I decided to head to Tilden Regional Park to hopefully find some wildlife to film.
Unfortunately, I did not find any animals whatsoever. However, I did end up taking some rather nice footage of the scenery around the area. The experience also gave me another chance to play around more with my Twoneil 35mm adapter. I completely forgot that I filmed this, but two years later, I've finally put together a cut.
I used my Twoneil 35mm adapter with Nikon 50mm f1.8D lens. I also used a Raynox HD-6600 Wide Angle lens on the long pan you see at the very end. All of the footage was recorded using Cinemode HDV24 with pulldown removed. The footage you see is raw with no color correction or any other alterations.
Song is "Timshel" from the album "Sigh No More" by Mumford & Sons.
Please note: I did not carve that "E" into the tree! It was already there and I thought it looked pretty sweet.
