This is an old one. It was my first attempt in Maya. The subject matter is really dear to my heart, and creating this animation was a way to cope with my Grandpa's passing. I was in a dark place in that moment, and each time I watch this it brings me back there.

At that time, I still wanted to believe that Maybe it wasn't true, and Maybe when I get back home across the ocean, my Grandpa will still be there, editing another book, behind his table, lit by his favorite desk lamp...
