The middle of thefieldrunner.com trip was interrupted briefly by Hurricane Irene. The day before was absolutely beautiful. The day of the hurricane was wild. Winds were blowing overhead, but above the storm you could see the cirrus clouds not moving at all. The storm was very centralized, very low, and moving very quickly. The following day we woke to beautiful blue skies. We had power outage for more than a day and there was tree damage around the city. Amazing how quickly it came and went.
