Just to be clear, Salt Creek Vineyard has no winery, but considering how impressive a place it is on its own, you won't find many people complaining...
Salt Creek is a 20 acre vineyard within a 130 acre farm in Dartmouth, MA. The vineyard has been in existence for over 30 years and contains a wide array of grape varietals and hybrids including Vidal and Cayuga.
Skott Rebello, the production manager at Salt Creek, has been in the business of agriculture and viticulture since he was 14 years old and has been in his current position for the past five years. Rebello's passion for grape growing is one of the biggest reasons that Salt Creek yielded 56 tons of fruit in 2010, supplying wineries all over New England with an extremely high quality product.
In this segment, Rebello takes us through the history of the vineyard and explains how his youthful involvement in Salt Creek ended up leading to his role overseeing the vineyard. Rebello also discusses how specified growing techniques and consistent vineyard maintenance is crucial to grape growing in Massachusetts.
Salt Creek is located in Dartmouth, MA and though it is not open to the public, it is available for tours by appointment. Contact email@example.com for more information.
Editor's note: This video segment was produced by French Oak TV and is the second in a series profiling the Massachusetts Farm Winery & Growers Association and each of its member wineries.
