This film is a documentary that aims to capture the educational philosophy of Chris Goodwin as he prepares to retire from the teaching profession after 36 years as a school teacher. Chris is unique as he has worked in the same school for the whole of his career and, more importantly, claims that his educational philosophy is shaped by poets and musicians rather than mainstream educational theory. This film attempts to capture the experiences and thoughts of a teacher as he approaches the final months of his working life. Chris officially retired as Headteacher of Beverley Grammar School in August 2011. Beverley Grammar school is a boys' comprehensive school in East Yorkshire and shares a Joint Sixth Form with Beverley High School for Girls.
