We filmed this short documentary in five countries over 23 days. As LIVESTRONG conducted extensive groundwork in advance of their global campaign, we set out to examine how cancer is perceived in five countries: Mexico, Japan, India, South Africa and Italy. This film was created as part of a larger effort by the Lance Armstrong Foundation to understand attitudes toward cancer across the world and to focus on what can be done internationally to reduce the stigma surrounding the disease. The film debuted online and was distributed at the 2008 Clinton Global Initiative, when Lance Armstrong appeared with Bill Clinton and Mayor Michael Bloomberg to launch the Global Cancer Initiative.
