We're an American family that traveled to Moscow in December, 2008. This is an edited "home movie" shot with a Sony camcorder. We had to pass through three layers of security (including metal detectors and pat-down searches) to get into Red Square on New Years Eve. I wanted to shoot footage of all of the Moscow police, militia, and army-types on the way in, but they were all business and I didn't want to do anything to provoke any of them. The last half of the video may be more interesting than the first - I let the camera roll as we made our way out of Red Square on to the Tverskaya, a main street in Moscow. The street was filled with partying people everywhere - no alcohol was allowed in the Square, so I think the hardcore party-ers decided to stay out on the street.
