Just a simple test of HD footage at WDW Animal Kingdom (mostly birds -- too cold a day for most other animals to come out :>)

Note that this demonstrates a pretty important technique -- cloudy day shooting. The day was completely overcast and, as always, this is the time to get up close to colorful objects. As long as the color balance is set properly (and don't rely upon the "automatic" setting -- either set it yourself or use the "cloudy" setting many cameras have) there is no better time to photograph rich, deep colors in close settings (the closer the better -- not demoed here but macro photography is excellent under these times).

About the only thing that doesn't work well are close ups of people -- because the light is so flat it will tend to round off people (adding those dreaded pounds). Kids won't suffer, but don't try it with any favorite female.

You can't do landscapes on such a day, but if you understand the drawbacks and advantages a cloudy day can be a photographer's best friend.
