Northern Beaches Christian School has been delivering online courses to senior students through its research and innovation unit, the Sydney Centre for Innovation in Learning (SCIL) since 2005. There are over 30 courses offered at either the Preliminary or HSC levels. Any student from any school, or home school, from Australia or abroad, can apply to do one of these courses. Interestingly, trends suggest that many online cohorts achieve higher class averages than their face-to-face counterparts. This is a phenomenon that is developing around the world.
