Caracol is a community art and youth development project based in the Belize-Guatemala Adjacency Zone. This audio-visual document provides the viewer with a brief history of this innovative project and outlines its methodology. Caracol's youth coordinators participate as peer educators, community workers and decision makers. As self-esteem and confidence grow long-term community development becomes possible. This film was made by Caracol using photographs taken by beneficiaries, volunteers, youth coordinators and staff. It features interviews with individuals who believe in this strategy of youth development, confidence building and conflict resolution.
