Our Fellow UH TIM Alumni Peter sit's son, Jon-Peter Sit who has been teaching English at Shunde Polytechnic past three years.

Two days ago I took part in a meeting to discuss the official standardization of various Shunde dishes. As the only 'foreign' member of the Shunde Translation Committee I was briefly interviewed by Foshan TV station about my thoughts on how we should go about translating Chinese dishes with names that carry both a history and culture while at the same time telling Chinese illiterate visitors just what it is they're about to eat.

I didn't think they'd actually broadcast the interview (had I known I would've done something with my hair first!), but it's been shown on three different TV stations (Shunde TV, Foshan TV, and Star TV of Guangdong, China) and the Guangzhou Daily (newspaper), and my students (and myself) are freaking out haha!
