The Institute for Wishful Thinking’s project Artists in Residence for the U. S. Government (self declared) believes that the community of artists and designers possess untapped creative and conceptual resources that can be applied to solving social problems. Using a reskilled conceptual toolbox that might contain activism, philosophy, urban studies, anthropology and political science as well as their experience in critical thinking and reframing, we want artists to work as change agents—imagining what could happen in the best possible future.
