Shot by Bobb Barito.
For writer/director Jack Kyser's Intermediate Narrative film at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, he is directing The Wheels, a very personal story about an alcoholic father and his young son, and a study of their strained relationship over the course of a long day at an amusement park. We believe the location is the key to this film, a rich environment full of color and innocence that stands in stark contrast to the father-son relationship at its center. We have been granted permission to shoot at an amusement park in Coney Island, including inside their Ferris Wheel, in which a key scene from the film takes place. The talented and highly professional crew members assisting Jack on this project include producer Erica Rose, cinematography Ben Dewey, sound mixer and sound editor Bobb Barito, assistant director Mike Cheslik and art director Madeline Wall, among many others.
We need your help. As you can imagine, with this particular film, the shoot is going to be expensive. We’re less than a month away from our shooting date, and in that time, we need to raise as much money as possible to provide transportation for film equipment, as well as our crew and actors; rent and/or purchase necessary extra film equipment; feed the cast and crew; and take the proper safety precautions in pre-production. Because amusement parks close early in the fall, we are working as hard as we can to make this picture a reality by the end of September. Any donation you can make – however small – would be absolutely incredible. Our deadline is quickly approaching, but with your help, I know that this immensely personal project will be possible to make. We receive a small budget from NYU to help finance the film, but unfortunately it will not nearly be enough for the cost of this shoot.
