Just a proof of concept, a little test with ARtoolkit and Second Life. Importing the Pattern in Second life, and mapping it to a prim, it is possible to control the visualisation of the model, and let it pops out from the screen.

    Lol, that is fun. So you are taking a screenshot of another screen that has the pattern on it... viewing it and adding the snowman with a second computer makes it look even more like it is "real". Or surreal rather! Interesting thought pattern on that!

    Yes, correct: in the first computer there is the pattern that, is in second life, and control the pattern from inside SL. Other computer has ARtoolkit, and take the screenshot of the first one :-)

    This could be a great way to shoot low-cost but high-impact commercials of 3D-products or services. You don't even need Second Life to do this - when my printer broke during an AR demo I simply aimed my webcam to the open PDF of the ARtoolkit symbol and it got the idea across anyway
