An elderly goatherder from a remote Calabrian village passes through four successive lives, representing man's place in the universe. Anarchic goats, reincarnation, religious processions and a mischievous dog are painstakingly observed, offering beautiful insight into village life while raising the question as to whether humans are really the dominant force.
