In September of 2006 I created a hut from very delicate and disposable materials. The Installation itself survived two significant rainstorms, one on Thursday, September 14th immediately after the structure was completed and another after the Opening Weekend of the Peekskill Project. It was appropriate that the original structure and design were changed by the storms, much like the inspiration for this project, my home in New Orleans before and after Katrina. At the opening of the Peekskill Project I barbecued as an ode to our evacuation 4 days after the storm, barbecuing dinner in the parking lot of a Mississippi gas station.
