Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Frank Almond discusses and plays selections from Giuseppe Tartini's "The Devil's Trill" Sonata on Tartini's own violin.
Tartini owned the violin, the Lipinski Stradivarius, in the 18th century. Around this time, it was rumored the devil came to Tartini in a dream, challenging him to a violin duel in a bargain for Tartini's soul.
The video features selections of Frank Almond performing Tartini's recollection of the Devil's fancy fiddle playing.
