A press conference with Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy, Waldemar Pawlak, took place on 11th July 2011 at DCT Gdansk container terminal. During the meeting, participants talked with Boris Wenzel CEO at DCT Gdańsk and Jan Zarebski, Head of Gdansk Business Club, as well as visited Evelyn Maersk container vessel. In his speech, Waldemar Pawlak frequently stressed how important DCT is for the Polish economy. In order to enable further development of the terminal, many bureaucratic obstructions have to be eliminated, such as deadlines and methods of VAT settlements, border control procedures and large number of inspections. The Minister of Economy is another government representative who assured that work is under way to devise legal solutions which would benefit DCT.

Konferencja prasowa z Wice Premierem i Ministrem Gospodarki Waldemarem Pawlakiem miała miejsce 21 lipca 2011 na terminalu kontenerowym DCT Gdańsk. Spotkaniu towarzyszyły rozmowy z Borisem Wenzlem i przewodniczącym Gdańskiego Klubu Biznesu Janem Zarębskim, a także zwiedzanie kontenerowca Evelyn Maersk. Wice Premier w swoich wypowiedziach podkreślał jak ważną rolę pełni terminal DCT Gdańsk w polskiej gospodarce. Aby wspomóc jego jeszcze szybszy rozwój potrzebne jest zlikwidowanie barier biurokratycznych. Do najistotniejszych działań zaliczył wprowadzenie zmian ułatwiających rozliczenie podatku VAT, przyspieszenie i usprawnienie kontroli granicznej oraz ograniczenie wszelkiego rodzaju inspekcji. Minister Gospodarki to kolejny przedstawiciel rządu, który zapewnił, że trwają prace nad korzystnymi rozwiązaniami biurokratycznymi dla terminala kontenerowego DCT Gdańsk.

Gdańsk Deepwater Container Terminal, Poland's newest and most modern container and Ro-Ro terminal facility, was officially opened on 1st October 2007. DCT Gdańsk currently ranks as the most rapidly growing terminal in the country and as the undisputed leader in the handling of Polish import and export.

DCT Gdańsk and Maersk Line have made a breakthrough in the maritime economy on the Baltic Sea. The greatest E-class container ships of the globe launched in 2011 regular weekly calls in Gdańsk: Evelyn Maersk, Emma Maersk, Eleonora Maersk, Elba Maersk , Eugen Maersk (their capacity amounts to 15500 TEU)

Maersk Line was the first container line which introduced direct navigational connection (AE10) from the Far East to the Baltic region

DCT Gdańsk was award given by Maersk Line for the best terminal in Northern Europe in 2009 and in 2010.
