All this rushing can't possibly be good for your blood pressure.
  • Merlin Mann plus 10 months ago
It's a valid point, Soapy Fish.

Maybe, tomorrow, I'll hook a sphygmomanometer up to ScreenFlow and we'll see what the data tells us.

    (Jesus, what a terrifying idea.)
  • bonsai 10 months ago
Liar! You just wanted an excuse to use sphygmomanometer in a sentence. ;)

    Clocked. Guilty as charged.

    Ok that time-work was amazing!

    But.

I don't even know who "Jessie" is, but as long as you're keeping it under 15 minutes you won't hear me complaining about the movies being too long.
  • Merlin Mann plus 10 months ago
Well, then you're in for a treat, my friend. Because Jesse's the best:

Seconded. TSOYA and JJGO should be required listening for the world.
  • Robert-Jon Eckhardt 10 months ago
Well, who am I to not listen to that?

    Just subscribed to both. Thanks!

Check out The Avett Brothers for some banjo love. My nephew loves it, so perhaps your daughter will too.

Great tip, boys. This is lovely.

Sat 2 tables behind you and your beautiful, lanky date at the JoCo show the other night and have to agree - those guys kicked music's ass. How great was Jonathan's mastery of those neat musical gadgets he brought out?
  • Merlin Mann plus 10 months ago
    1. Scott's a very handsome fellow
    2. Jonathan and the Zen Drum? Just wow.
    3. What the fuck, Todd? Say hi next time, Mr. Bigshot.

I wanted to be a game programmer when I grew up. I wanted to work for Sierra, because they did awesome games in the '80s and '90s, but they don't exist anymore. I actually know how to program, so it might still happen.
  • John Kooz 6 months ago
OMG Same here! I bought stock in sierra online. One of fave software companies. I learned java in college. Did NOT like java...that clunky JVM. C is for me. Bought books on Black Art of Macintosh Game Programming back in the day...but there's so much involved with graphics, and interface, and games are like rl now. But I totally here you about sierra. BEST Games. Loved that software company (FYI, Cendant bought sierra..and I don't know what they're up to now. I think they're with Vivendi (that huge european software conglomerate) and Blizzard). Incredible Machine, CAstle of Dr. Brain...ahh good thinking games. I think Sierra helped with some Diablo Blizz expansions..half-life was big..they worked on a variety of projects. They acquired You Don't Know Jack (another great fun thinking game) in 97. They've definitely been around, I reckon! I channeled my programming interest into NLP so I still have the programming, but get to use it with homo sapiens cerebrums and physiological neurology instead of metal boxes with wires :D. still get to use loops though! ;D Well trying to atleast..sigh...I still like software. RL as software game is fun perception.

I assume you read Born Standing Up. Brilliant autobiography. My only regret was not buying it in audio form.

I wanted to play the banjo so bad. I eventually picked up a five string and took lessons. Three-fingered picking did me in and I eventually quit. My mom was relieved since we traveled 30 minutes and into Kansas to meet the instructor.

This shorter show somehow left me wanting more. Maybe that's the effect you want though. I'll be back tomorrow.

Seriously? You missed the part where Obama snatched Mr. Potter, er, Cheney out of his wheel chair and threw him down the steps?

Also cute tech nerd is sworn in. What's not to like?

Great, you got me searching for Purple Chick stuff now. The results of which means I've now discovered that there are Purple Chick versions of my favourite Beatles albums. And what luck, the grand total of said albums OVER 30 GIGS! Jesus christ! Seriously!? What is with the FLAC! I get it, it's high def, I just want to listen on my freakin' iPod.

    Audiophiles. *psht*

Your witty humor, candidness, and electric intelligence is definitely the allure explaining how and why these Most Days clips are some of the most illuminating and entertaining "watchings" I've seen in long-time/ever. Haha! I just noticed the Screenplay tags "INT. OFFICE" etc. haha nice. Interconnected. Soooo many music references! Enriching. What's the Count-down Ruler Timer app called?
