Go to baseballnewshound.com/?p=1385 for a great scouting report on Sammy Solis.

Footage of Washington Nationals top prospect Sammy Solis pitching for the Potomac Nationals of the Carolina League on 9/9/11. Solis pitched against the Frederick Keys in game 2 of the '11 Carolina League Playoffs, going 4.2 IP and striking out 5 batters without allowing an earned run. Solis, drafted 51st overall in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft, owns the franchise record for the largest signing bonus of any Nationals player taken in the second round.

Thus far into his professional career, Solis has managed to live up to lofty expectations and has impressed with his 90-93 mph fastball, immense changeup and plus command and control. His deceptive delivery adds to his effectiveness and his polished approach and veteran understanding of pitching pushes his ceiling to that of a Mark Mulder-type number-two starter in the big leagues. Solis' physical gifts, intelligence and intangibles make his floor relatively high as well, and he has a bright future playing Major League Baseball.
