See all Show me
On the 20th of January 2009, Barack Obama makes history today becoming the first African American President of the United States of America.

As I played with my daughters in the North Carolina snow this morning, I told them both, "We've come a long way baby!"

Being a product of the civil rights movement, it was a blessing to be able to point to a man of color as example to my girls and show them that anything is possible when they prepare, have a vision, be on a mission, pursue it with a passion and believe in their hearts that it can be achieved.

And on a spiritual note, before the day is over, I will remind them that even though we joyfully celebrate the history that Obama has made on this day, they should halways remember that God is the maker of all of history, everything present and of all future things to come.

It is my hope to encourage them to seek first the kingdom of God through faith in Jesus Christ and being led by the Holy Spirit to help them along the way.

In closing, I want to encourage you to let today be the first day in the rest of your life as you start your pursuit in making the history that God has for you to make. You can't change the past. But your future in Christ is now right in front of you.

Peace & blessings,
Holla back. Let's chop it up.
