Baart (misspelling of the Dutch word for beard) is a short film about Jip, an 8-year-old boy with a big imagination. Jip wants his father to be part of his games and stories, but his father's too busy with other things. When he notices his dad doesn't have attention for him, but only for men with beards, Jip makes a plan to get his father's attention. This doesn't work out quite as he'd expected...

Baart is the graduation short for my study Image and Media Technology at the Utrecht School of the Arts. With this film and an additional thesis I gained my Bachelor in Design (Utrecht School of the Arts, the Netherlands) title as well as my Master of Arts in Design for Digital Cultures (Open University of Milton Keynes, England).

The following people, among others, helped me realise this film:

Youri Woesthuis as Jip
Yorick Zwart as father Marcel
Aafke Buringh as mother Marianne

Frits Enk as accountant
Ludo Doove and Gerard Leferink as neighbours
and Skip Woesthuis as Jip's friend
