FWIW, the quality all depends on the syrup (there's not much variety in carbonated water after all). Steal some post-mix syrup from a bar, and it'll be just like the real thing. Use the regular stuff, and it's like buying cheap soft drink (good enough to mix, or when really thirsty, but not great). Don't buy the cheap syrup.
