Chinese street vendor food
On a quick trip to the market, we walked along the main street so that Missy could get one of her favorite Chinese snacks.
First, batter is ladled onto the pan. Next, and egg is cracked and smoothed onto the batter while the pan is spinning, which slowly cooks it and evenly distributes it. Once the batter is crisp, bean paste, spices, lettuce, and other treats are wrapped in the crispy batter. Finally, it's wrapped in a paper towel and ready to eat.
I didn't have one, as I was ill and had no appetite, but while traveling in China it takes a strong stomach for street food. The batter came out of a big orange bucket, and the water added to the batter came out of a gasoline can. There were lots of flies around, as well.
However, I'm sure Missy can attest to the food's deliciousness. I'm waiting on her reply so I can figure out what this snack is called.
