Aspiring Buffalo filmmaker Doug Borsuk welcomes two documentarians into his life for a look at how an artist struggles to make a living. In Borsuk's case, this means working part time as a wedding videographer. The gig, which as Borsuk asserts at least keeps his hands on the camera, is a booze-soaked series of misfortunes and headaches keeping him from his true goal: making films.
Land of the Crabapples is at once a character study chronicling the joys and disappointments of filmmaking and a loving, pathetically funny mockumentary of the once-great city of Buffalo, New York.
