Here's our happy golden retriever running free in a local park just after the snow stopped on January 20. This guy LOVES the snow and wasn't a bit confused even thought the park looked quite a bit different with overhanging boughs and dense snow along the path. Without our dog we probably would miss so much. On our daily walks we see sunrises, sunsets, stars, lots of birds and wildlife, and unusual scenes like this snow scene.

We've walked this park with two other golden friends, Kelly, and her son, Gabriel, since 1986. Guinness is not related to Gabe, he came to us while Gabe was starting to show his age at 12 years, but he lived three more years, mainly since Guinness pestered him wanting to play. I think the puppy added those extra years to the old alpha dog's life.

Guinness is an amazing dog with great strength and speed. He's a pleasure to observe, too --almost catlike sometimes --like the big cats, I mean. I'm so glad we give him a place to run.
