This is a method to get a delicious cup of coffee from a very cheap and common brewer. This is not a method for using it to make espresso. It could be used in different ways - this is just a way that produces a very sweet, clean and strong cup.

love it, especially the tip about wrapping the cold towel at the end (though I'd probably just plunge into cold water). I usually can't stand this brewing method but the cup this produced was surprisingly enjoyable.

    Well done and thanks..

hmm looks like I overgrind my beans--but then it is really hard to get a nice, even grind without a burr.

Which temp is best to brew it at? I know lower is better, but is medium too high on the stove top?

Thanks for sharing, will have to try this method out!

I posted this a while back:
    blog.iamdooser.org/post/130967668/scotth-i-recently-purchased-a-moka-pot-to-try

Frankly, I think the beans in use provide very delicate differences between brewing methods. Using cold water (and the method I describe on my blog) I'd get a great cup of moka coffee. Lately, I've had very bitter results, regardless of grind. With all other things being equal, it must be the beans.

I plan to try your method with my current beans soon. I'll post the results.

This morning I tried boiling water, let it cool a second, add to reservoir and brew on medium heat. It's certainly a better brew, but a bit watered down for my tastes. Perhaps tomorrow I'll try a lower heat for strength?
