A brief history of The West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The organization grew in the late 1970's from a collective sense of need and the creation of the first laws that dealt with the issue. The video captures the gratitude of "survivors" who escaped from torment; it examines efforts designed to offer victims shelter and safety; and, it looks at systems that underwent significant change as they were taught to handle domestic violence situations. The video was produced for WVCADV during the summer of 2011.
